TUXEDOS

The men in the wedding party usually wear tuxedos. Be sure to ask if there are special requests, such as children who will be wearing suits or similar tuxedos. When the final decision is made regarding what everyone will wear, you will need to work with the remainder of the ushers to get them prepared as well.

Many times the Bride or Groom will choose the place where you will rent your tuxedo. However, if you are from out of town, you may need to have your tuxedo measured and rented from another location. In this case, getting the exact style and type is critical. The best solution is to rent all of them from a chain location so even people from out of town will have the same color, style, fit, and so on.

Shoes can be rented or bought through the tuxedo store as well. If the Bride or Groom allows, all the men can purchase their shoes from a particular store or from the rental store. Depending on how formal the wedding is, some Brides will allow the men to wear their own dress shoes, but be sure to ask the Bride or the Groom if nothing was specifically said.

You will also be in charge of the fittings and ordering the tuxedos, so be sure that you get the listing of men and boys who will be in the wedding. This will allow you to contact everyone for fittings and alterations.
