REHEARSAL DINNER
After the wedding rehearsal, it is customary for
the Bride and Groom to take the wedding party
to dinner. This could be at a restaurant, in a
home, or to a bar where dinner and drinks are
served and last minute jitters can be talked
through. This time provides the perfect opportunity
for the entire wedding party to get to
know one another, especially if some of them
are from out of town.
At this time, the Bride and Groom offer gifts
to those in the wedding party, and say, “Thank
you,” for being a part of their important day.
Now is the time for you as the Best Man to
present the Bride and Groom with your special
gift. If you would be more comfortable, you can
wait until everyone has left to present your gift.
In most cases, the rehearsal dinner is not formal,
but you should dress in nice clothes
appropriate for the location of the ceremony.
It is common for the women to decorate the
reception hall after the rehearsal dinner. If the
men plan to help, make sure food and drinks
are available as an enticement. Whatever you
do not get finished the night before the wedding
can be finished early the morning of the
ceremony. Again, as the Best Man, work closely
with the Maid of Honor to see if she needs
help with anything.
