DURING THE WEDDING CEREMONY
With the wedding almost ready to start, and all the
guests seated, the Mother of the Bride and the parents
of the Groom are seated. The role of the Best
Man is to stay with the Groom, calming him, and
making sure that he is ready to proceed. You will
also organize the procession, arranging the couples
according to how the Bride and Groom have designated,
and then you and the Groom take their places
at the front of the church, waiting for the wedding
party and the Bride to start their procession.
Before the Bride walks down the aisle, double
check that the ring is still in your pocket, and talk
to the Groom, keeping him calm, Remember that
these are your main duties and as the ceremony
continues, remind the Groom as to where he
should be standing, and if needed, what he needs
to do next.
Keep in mind that everything that happens
during the ceremony has already been practiced
during rehearsal. Additionally, the clergyman
performing the ceremony, takes on the responsibility
of ensure nothing goes wrong by guiding
the Best Man and Groom as necessary.
After the wedding ceremony is over, you as the
Best Man and the Maid of Honor will serve as witnesses
in signing the official documents.
