BEFORE REHEARSAL

The day before the wedding, the rehearsal and usually dinner will take place. The week of the wedding, you as the Best Man should contact all the ushers to ensure they have the information regarding time and location, for the rehearsal dinner.

Before the rehearsal, make it clear to all the ushers that cell phones, beepers, and girlfriends will be left behind while they perform their duties. Generally, the wives and girlfriends of the ushers come to the rehearsal and usually sit together during the wedding ceremony and reception until the ushers are completed with their duties. During the ceremony, make sure everyone keeps all electronic gadgets in the car.

As people start arriving for the rehearsal, if no one in the wedding party is familiar with another person, take the time to introduce them. Before you make your way to the rehearsal, be sure that you take your gift for the Bride and Groom, a camera for fun and games, and a list of answers to any last minute questions that might arise, needing to be discussed with the Groom.
